Dr. Howard Operowsky

Dr. Howard Operowsky is a Senior Technical Staff Member in the IBM STL where he evaluates server and middleware technology and is currently focused on virtualization. Since joining IBM, he has been manager or technical leader of a variety of IBM products, including WebSphere Commerce architecture, collaborative multimedia applications, IBM AIX/ESA operating system architecture, the design and development of compilers and programming languages for high-end parallel systems, and performance analysis of mainframe operating systems. He has co-authored multiple patents in the area of multimedia applications and is the recipient of an IBM Outstanding Technical Achievement Award for work on operating system architecture. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at New York University. He is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
