To help it produce internationally recognized research that attracts talent graduate students from around the world, Sultan Qaboos University engaged Lenovo to deploy a brand-new high-performance computing (HPC) cluster based on Lenovo ThinkSystem servers—boosting HPC performance and opening up a wide range of new research possibilities.
Founded by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said in 1986, Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) welcomes more than 20,000 students to its campus each year. Based in Muscat, Oman, the university has nine colleges, including medicine, agricultural and marine sciences, natural sciences and engineering.
