Lenovo ThinkSystem DB820S FC SAN Switch
Fixed-port switch, designed to unleash performance with uncompromising security
Datasheet
The Lenovo ThinkSystem DB820S Gen 8 FC SAN Switch is a high-performance, 1U Fibre Channel switch, purpose-built to meet the demanding needs of modern data centers. With 56 128G SFP+ ports and unmatched low latency, this switch delivers exceptional bandwidth and throughput, making it ideal for fueling enterprise AI and modern workloads. With its compact design, the DB820S Switch enables efficient use of rack space while providing pay-as-you-grow scalability with Ports on Demand (POD), allowing organizations to expand from 24 to 56 ports in 8-port increments, reducing upfront costs, and ensuring non-disruptive capacity growth. All software features are included, eliminating the need for licenses or separate installations.
As cyber threats escalate, securing storage networks is paramount. Brocade Gen 8 technology provides the essential performance, automation, and security needed. With integrated quantum-resistant encryption and embedded SAN AI, the system defends against threats and modernizes SAN management. This results in quicker decisions, enhanced operational efficiency, and superior resilience.
The ThinkSystem DB820S switch delivers up to 99.9999% availability, featuring built-in congestion management and self-healing functions to ensure consistent traffic flow and uptime. Its "set-and-forget" automation minimizes the need for manual intervention, enabling IT teams to focus on strategic projects.
The ThinkSystem DB820S switch provides a cyber-resilient, quantum-safe architecture, safeguarding critical data and applications from evolving threats. It secures storage traffic with fibre channel isolation, role-based access controls, and hardened Fabric OS® with validated roots of trust, preventing unauthorized access and malicious software.
Leveraging Gen 8 technology, the switch uses quantum-resistant 256-bit encryption and advanced cryptographic algorithms, including post-quantum cryptography, to protect against quantum attacks. This technology also strengthens the SAN with robust access controls and the principle of least privilege, reducing attack surfaces and vulnerabilities.
Brocade Gen 8 technology, featuring embedded SAN AI, enhances network uptime and simplifies SAN management with improved visibility. Gen 8 modernizes SAN management with AI-powered autonomy, learning and adapting to issues based on decades of IT experience. SAN Fabric Intelligence (SAN FI) eliminates manual correlation of application resources by combining monitoring, troubleshooting, and cross-correlation of servers, storage, virtual machines, and fabric connections, providing end-to-end visibility for faster troubleshooting and smarter management. This significantly speeds up response times for resource-constrained IT teams.
